Pre-Kindergarten

Within a supportive and nurturing environment our program introduces the joys of learning to the very young. The curriculum provides a balance of structured and creative activities. It stresses the areas of language and literacy, mathematical thinking, science, and social studies. Weekly visits to gym, library, and music foster independence and imagination. The classroom environment encourages each child to grow independently, cooperatively, and responsibly in an atmosphere that focuses on the feelings and needs of others. Opportunities are provided that enable each child to practice the values of kindness, caring, and respect. With emphasis on the social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth of each child, our program incorporates developmentally appropriate practices.

In-School programs are also a component of the Pre-Kindergarten curriculum.  Visits from The Pittsburgh Zoo, The National Aviary, The Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and The Carnegie Science Center provide extensions to the learning that is taking place during each day.
